Lindsay Clancy in an alternate universe. The defendant is a man in an orange jumpsuit. His lawyer is yelling that he is not guilty by reason of insanity. The sign on the bench asks if there is still justice for all.
The jury is not buying it. One of them says, seriously? The other sign says facts still matter.
Outside the courthouse the signs get dumber. Free the incel. The wife did it. It’s the testosterone. He’s innocent because of his star sign.
That is the point.
If Lindsay Clancy had been a man, nobody would have rushed to his side. And they would have been right not to.
The women who lined up for her are messed up. They turned a mother who strangled her three children into a cause.
They made shirts. They stood on the sidewalk. They talked about her pain and skipped over three dead kids and a husband who came home to a nightmare.
The victims are the children. The victim is the husband. Lindsay Clancy is not the victim.

The Lindsay Clancy jury has ended in a mistrial and I think some of the women cheering Lindsay Clancy on need to consider exactly what argument they are making.
And yes, I am a woman.
That matters here, because women have spent generations fighting the ridiculous notion that our biology makes us too emotional, unstable or irrational to handle enormous responsibility.
Now apparently some women want to resurrect that argument themselves.
Clancy admits she strangled her three children, Cora, Dawson and Callan. Her defense argued postpartum psychosis left her unable to appreciate or control what she was doing. Prosecutors argue she was mentally ill but still understood right from wrong.
Hundreds of supporters appeared outside the courthouse wearing pink shirts carrying messages like “Believe” and “She Needed Help.”
Okay. Where are the shirts for Cora, Dawson and Callan?
Postpartum psychosis is real, rare and extremely serious. Women suffering from it need immediate medical treatment.
